Sourdough Crumpets

If you have a sourdough starter this is such an easy and fun use for it! Only 4 ingredients and takes only 5 minutes. I’ve been looking for other ways to use my starter for a while now and came across crumpets and they are so delicious.

During lockdown so many people I know starting making sourdough from scratch. I struggled to keep mine alive half the time but when I did we ate some amazing bread.


Serves: 2

3/4 cup of sourdough starter

pinch of coconut sugar

pinch of salt

1/4 tsp baking soda


Add the sourdough starter to bowl along with the salt and sugar. (remember to feed your sourdough again)

Make sure your pan is on hot then add a bit of coconut oil.

Add the baking soda to the bowl and it mix through, it should start bubbling and be almost fluffy.

Add 1 tbsp of the mixture to the pan (make sure you work fast as the mixture only stays fluffy for a few minutes) I use a large pan and cook three at a time.

Serve with fresh fruit, peanut butter and honey.
